What shapes your offer
Which Omega it is
A Speedmaster Professional, a Seamaster Diver 300M and a Constellation have very different audiences.
The value floor
We buy Omega watches valued at $2,000 or more.
Originality of the dial, hands and bezel
On Speedmasters and vintage Seamasters in particular, original dials, hands, bezel inserts and crowns matter more than shine.
Movement and service history
Newer Omegas carry Co-Axial movements, and many carry Master Chronometer certification, while older ones use earlier calibers.
Before you send it
- Do not polish, clean or service the watch before sending it.
- Collect the box, warranty card, booklets, receipts and any service paperwork, and photograph them together.
- Take clear daylight photos of the dial, both sides of the case, the crown, the clasp and the case back.
- Write down the model name and the reference from the case back or papers.
- Do not resize or shorten the bracelet before you ask, and keep any links that were removed.
Your full offer becomes credit toward any watch we sell.
How trade-in worksQuestions
Do you buy Omega watches?
Yes, when they are valued at $2,000 or more. Send the model, reference, condition, box and papers, photos and your asking price. A dealer will reply with a firm offer, usually the same business day.
Do you buy the MoonSwatch?
No, politely. We do not buy the MoonSwatch or other Swatch-made pieces. Our desk works only with Omega watches valued at $2,000 or more.
My Omega is quartz. Will you consider it?
Possibly, but many Omega quartz watches are below our $2,000 floor. We look at each one individually, so send it and a dealer will tell you honestly.
Does a missing box or warranty card change the offer?
Yes, a little. A complete set makes a watch easier to place, so a missing box or card changes the offer, but it does not usually end the conversation. Tell us exactly what you have.
My Speedmaster has a replaced bezel or crystal. Does that matter?
It matters, and being upfront helps. Original parts are part of what we are buying, so a replaced bezel, dial or crystal changes the offer. Tell us what you know about the watch's history.
Is the offer final before you see the watch?
The offer is firm in the sense that the dealer means it, but it is indicative until the watch is inspected on our bench in Los Angeles. If the watch is as described, the offer stands.
Can I use the value toward another watch?
Yes. Take cash, or apply the full agreed value as trade credit toward any watch we sell. The desk confirms payment details with you.
How do I get the watch to you?
Send it on a prepaid insured label, or bring it to our desk in downtown Los Angeles by appointment, Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm Pacific. Call (213) 373-4424 or email sales@mywatchdealer.com.
