What shapes your offer

Which collection

Portugieser, Pilot's Watches, Ingenieur, Aquatimer, Portofino and Da Vinci attract different buyers.

Complication and size

A Portugieser can be a simple time-only watch, a chronograph, a perpetual calendar or something more complex.

Case material and finish

Steel, titanium, ceramic and gold all appear across the range.

Special editions

IWC has produced many editions with named pilots, aircraft or racing themes.

Before you send it

  • Photograph the full reference on the caseback, the dial straight on, the crown and the clasp.
  • Note the diameter, the case material and any edition name or number.
  • Do not polish the case, re-lume the dial or have the watch serviced before sending.
  • Gather the box, papers, spare straps and any service receipts.
  • Say clearly if the strap or buckle has been replaced.

Questions

Which IWC watches do you buy?

We make offers on IWC watches valued at $2,000 or more across Portugieser, Pilot's Watches (including the Spitfire), Ingenieur, Aquatimer, Portofino and Da Vinci.

Do you buy IWC without box and papers?

Yes, we can consider it. The box and papers support the offer, and without them it is judged more on the watch. Tell us what is missing when you write.

Does it matter which Pilot's Watch I have?

Yes. A compact Mark, a large Big Pilot and a Spitfire are different watches with different buyers. Send the reference or clear photos of the dial and caseback.

Is a special edition worth mentioning?

Yes. Edition dials, engravings and straps are judged on their own. Give the edition name and keep any certificate or presentation item.

How is the offer decided from photos?

A dealer reviews the reference, condition, papers and your asking price, and replies with an offer, usually the same business day. It is indicative until the watch is inspected.

Can I use trade credit?

Yes. After inspection, the full agreed value can be applied to any watch we sell, or you can take cash. The desk confirms payment details with you.

How does the watch get to you?

Use a prepaid insured label, or bring it to the downtown Los Angeles desk by appointment, Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm Pacific.

Am I obliged to accept?

No. Asking for an offer is free of obligation.
