What shapes your offer
Which Cartier it is
A Santos, a Tank and a Ballon Bleu are bought very differently.
Size and case shape
Cartier makes most lines in more than one size, and the sizes are not interchangeable in demand.
Quartz or mechanical
Many Cartier watches are quartz and many are automatic or hand-wound.
Case, crystal and crown
Cartier cases are often brushed and polished in different zones, and hard polishing softens those edges.
Before you send it
- Leave the watch as it is.
- Gather the box, certificate or card, receipts and any extra links, straps or tools.
- Take clear photos of the dial, both case sides, the crown, the clasp and the case back, in daylight.
- Look at the case back or dial and tell us whether it is quartz or mechanical.
- Do not resize or shorten a bracelet or strap before you ask us.
Your full offer becomes credit toward any watch we sell.
How trade-in worksQuestions
Do you buy Cartier quartz watches?
Sometimes. We buy by value, and many Cartier quartz pieces are valued below the $2,000 floor we work to. We look at each one individually, so send the model, size and photos and a dealer will tell you honestly whether it is something we can buy.
How do you decide on an offer for my Cartier?
A dealer looks at the line, size, material, movement, condition, and whether the box and papers are with it, then replies to your asking price with a firm offer. It is indicative until the watch is inspected on our bench.
My Cartier has no box or papers. Is it still worth sending?
Yes. A missing set changes the offer because the next buyer has less to go on, but it rarely ends the conversation. A complete set helps, so tell us exactly what you do and do not have.
Is a Santos easier to sell than a Tank?
They are different watches with different buyers, so there is no single answer. What matters is the exact model, size, material and condition. Tell us which one you own and a dealer can speak to it.
What is the minimum value you buy?
We buy watches valued at $2,000 or more. Your asking price is a required field on the form so the dealer can see where you are starting from.
Do I have to accept the offer?
No. There is no obligation. If the offer is not right, you simply say no and keep the watch.
Can I put the value toward another watch?
Yes. You can take cash, or apply the full agreed value as trade credit toward any watch we sell. The desk confirms payment details with you.
