What shapes your offer
Crown, pushers and strap
The Offshore has oversized pushers and a chunky crown, and those take the knocks.
Which Offshore it is
The family runs from the 42mm Offshore Chronograph and Offshore Diver to smaller 37mm models, in steel, titanium.
Case material and finishing
Ceramic and carbon resist scratches but can chip, titanium can dent and gold shows wear first.
The large-scale dial
Offshore dials usually carry a bolder, larger-scale pattern than the Royal Oak.
Before you send it
- Write down the full reference code from your papers or the caseback, not just the first digits.
- Gather the box, papers, any spare straps and service receipts.
- Do not polish it, service it or replace the strap just to sell it.
- Photograph the dial, crown, pushers, case sides, caseback and strap in daylight.
Your full offer becomes credit toward any watch we sell.
How trade-in worksQuestions
How is the Royal Oak Offshore different from the Royal Oak?
The Royal Oak, from 1972, is slimmer with an integrated bracelet. The Offshore, from 1993, is larger and thicker, with a sportier look, oversized crown and pushers and a strap or bracelet to match. They are valued as separate families, so tell us which you have.
Does a missing box change the offer?
It can, a little. Missing papers usually matter more than a missing box. Tell us what you have, and the dealer will take it into account.
Does strap wear matter on an Offshore?
It is part of what we look at, with crown and pusher wear. Show it honestly and keep the original strap. Please do not replace it just to sell the watch.
Why do Audemars Piguet references get discontinued?
The maker updates its lines with new proportions, movements and dials, and retires the old reference. It does not usually explain each change. It matters because the full reference tells us exactly which Offshore you own, so please send the whole code.
Can I put the value toward another watch?
Yes. You can apply the full agreed value as trade credit toward any watch we sell, whether that is a Patek Philippe, a Rolex or another Audemars Piguet. Or you can take cash. The desk confirms payment details with you.
Is the first offer final?
An offer made from photos and a description is indicative until the watch is inspected on our bench in Los Angeles. If it is as described, the offer stands. If it differs, the dealer will explain.
What is the minimum value you buy?
We buy watches valued at $2,000 or more. Your asking price is required with your request.
