What shapes your offer
The PAM reference
A small difference in the number can mean a different case, dial, movement or edition.
Case size and style
Luminors come in more than one size and case style, and the 1950 case is a different shape from the standard one.
Movement and complications
Some Luminors are simple, some are hand-wound with a long power reserve, and some are flyback chronographs.
Crown guard, dial and lume
The crown guard should sit flush and be undamaged, and the dial and lume should be clean and even.
Before you send it
- Do not polish, clean or service the watch before sending it.
- Find the PAM reference on the case back or papers, and write it down exactly.
- Keep every strap, the original buckle, any tools, the box and the papers together.
- Photograph the dial, the crown guard and both case sides in daylight.
Your full offer becomes credit toward any watch we sell.
How trade-in worksQuestions
Do you buy the Panerai Luminor?
Yes, when it is valued at $2,000 or more. Send the model, PAM reference, condition, box and papers, photos and your asking price. A dealer replies with a firm offer, usually the same business day.
Does the PAM number matter that much?
Yes. A small difference in the number can mean a different case, dial, movement or edition. It is the fastest way for a dealer to know exactly which watch you have.
Does a missing box or papers change the offer?
It does, because the next buyer has less to go on, but it rarely ends the conversation. Tell us exactly what you have.
Should I replace the strap before selling?
No. Keep the original strap and buckle as they are, and send any extra straps. We would rather see the watch as it is.
Is the offer final before you see the watch?
The dealer means the offer, but it is indicative until the watch is inspected on our bench in Los Angeles. If it is as described, the offer stands.
Can I use the value toward another watch?
Yes. Take cash, or apply the full agreed value as trade credit toward any watch we sell. The desk confirms payment details with you.
