A Day-Date is always gold or platinum.
Pick the size
There are 36mm, 40mm and an older 41mm Day-Date II.
Check the dial and bezel
Dials come plain, with roman numerals, or diamond-set, and bezels come smooth, fluted or gem-set.
The President bracelet and what to check
The President bracelet is dressy and heavier than a steel one.
Which one is for you
If you want the classic look
A yellow gold 36mm or 40mm, such as the m128238-0045 or the 228238, is the one most people picture.
If you want something cooler and quieter
White gold or platinum, such as the m228239-0033 or the m128236-0018, gives the same watch in a more restrained tone.
If you want a piece with some history
Look at the 18038 and 18238 from the quickset 36mm era, or the 41mm Day-Date II such as the 218238.
Questions
What is the difference between a Day-Date and a Datejust?
The Day-Date shows the day spelled out in full along with the date. It has only ever been made in gold or platinum, and it comes on the President bracelet. The Datejust shows the date only and comes in steel, two-tone and gold.
Is the Day-Date also called the President?
Yes, many people call it that, after the bracelet. In listings we use Day-Date.
How much does a Day-Date cost?
The price depends on metal, size, dial, any gem setting, condition and papers. Each listing shows its own price. Our price guide shows how current stock is spread; it is not a quote for any one watch.
Does it come with a warranty?
Every watch we sell comes with a 2-year store warranty covering the movement. It is ours, not the manufacturer's. You also get a MyLuxApp-certified written appraisal and a presentation box.
Can I return it?
You have 7 days from delivery to start a return on unworn in-stock pieces. Special orders are final sale unless defective or not as described.
How do I pay and how does it ship?
We accept card, bank wire, crypto through the desk, and Affirm or Klarna on eligible orders. A lower wire price is shown beside the card price. Shipping is free, insured and overnight on orders of $1,000 or more, and a flat $55 below that. A signature is required.
