How to read the range

We currently have 1482 pre-owned Rolex watches in stock. They run from $2,509 to $288,517, and the median piece sits at $19,783. The lines in stock right now are Datejust, Day-Date, Oyster Perpetual, Daytona, Submariner, Sky-Dweller.

These figures describe our own listings on October 24, 2026. They are not a market index, they are not an appraisal, and they will change as pieces sell and new ones arrive. The low end is usually a different kind of watch from the high end, so the range tells you how varied the stock is more than it tells you what one watch is worth.

The median is the middle listing: half our Rolex watches are priced below it and half above. It is a better starting point than the average, because one very expensive piece can pull an average up.

What moves a price

Two watches with the same name can sit far apart on price. Most of the difference comes from a short list of things. When you compare, check each one.

Why the wire price is lower than the card price

Every listing shows two prices side by side. The card price includes a card processing fee. A bank wire does not carry that fee, so the wire price is lower. The watch is the same, the warranty is the same and the appraisal is the same.

When you compare us with another seller, compare like with like: our wire price against their wire price, and our card price against their card price. If a seller shows only one price, ask which payment method it applies to.

How to compare two listings

Put the two listings side by side and go down the same list for both. A price gap often disappears when you line up the details.

What not to compare

A few comparisons look sensible and mislead. Asking prices are not sale prices, so a number on a listing is not proof of what a watch has sold for. A new watch from a brand boutique is a different product from a pre-owned one, with a different warranty and a different history. A watch with its original set is not the same as one without, and a polished case is not the same as an unpolished one.

Beware of comparing a watch with a similar-looking one in a different metal, a different generation or a different size. Most of the confusion in this market comes from a model name used loosely. Always compare the full reference.

How we handle pricing

We list a card price and a wire price on every watch, and we show the reference, condition and what comes with it so that you can compare on the facts. We do not claim to have the lowest price, and we do not ask you to take our word for a price. Use the checklist above, and if you want to talk through a particular piece, call the desk on (213) 373-4424 or write to sales@mywatchdealer.com.

What moves Rolex prices

Within Rolex, the family does a lot of the work. The Datejust is the broadest line, in sizes from 26 to 41 millimeters and in steel, two-tone and gold, so Datejust listings spread widely. The Day-Date is made only in precious metal, so it follows gold and platinum as well as the dial and condition. Sports models such as the Submariner, GMT-Master II and Daytona are driven strongly by reference, bezel color and whether they are the current generation or an earlier one.

Within a single family, compare like with like: the steel version of a Submariner is a different watch from the gold or two-tone one. Dial color, an unusual bezel and a full set can each make a difference to a Rolex price, and so can the age of the reference.

Questions

How much is a pre-owned Rolex?

It depends on the reference, the condition, the metal and whether the original box and papers are included. Right now our 1482 pre-owned Rolex watches run from $2,509 to $288,517, with a median of $19,783. Those are our own listings on October 24, 2026, not a market average.

What does the median price of Rolex mean?

It is the middle listing in our current Rolex stock: half our pieces are priced below $19,783 and half above. It is a more honest guide than an average, but it describes our stock and not the whole market.

Why do two Rolex watches of the same model cost different amounts?

Reference, condition, metal, dial, size, originality and the completeness of the set all play a part. Compare the full reference and the full details before you compare prices. The lines we currently have in stock are Datejust, Day-Date, Oyster Perpetual, Daytona, Submariner, Sky-Dweller.

Why is the wire price lower than the card price?

The card price includes a card processing fee, which a bank wire does not carry. The watch, the 2-year store warranty and the appraisal are the same either way. Both prices are shown beside each other on every listing.

Can I sell you a Rolex?

We buy watches valued at $2,000 or more. Send the brand, model or reference, condition, box and papers and your asking price with photos, and a dealer replies with a firm offer, usually the same business day. An offer from photos is indicative until the watch is inspected. See /sell.php for details.
