Buying a pre-owned Tudor
Tell the Black Bay family apart
The Black Bay comes in several versions.
Bracelet or strap
Tudor sells many models on either a steel bracelet or a fabric strap.
Condition around the bezel and lugs
Black Bay bezels and lug edges take knocks.
Vintage versus current
A vintage Tudor Submariner is judged on originality: dial, hands, bezel and crown that match the period.
Which one is for you
If you want the classic Tudor dive look
Start with the Black Bay at 41mm.
If you want a smaller, slimmer case
Look at the Black Bay 58.
If you travel between time zones
The Black Bay GMT shows a second time zone with a colored bezel, and the pieces we list say exactly which bezel they have.
Questions
What is the difference between the Black Bay and the Black Bay 58?
The Black Bay is 41mm, and the Black Bay 58 is 39mm and wears smaller and slimmer. They share a design language, but the proportions are different enough that people often have a clear preference after trying both.
What does the GMT add?
The Black Bay GMT adds a hand that tracks a second time zone, read against a rotating bezel. It is useful if you travel or work across time zones.
Should I buy a vintage Tudor or a current one?
Buy vintage if you value originality and age, and current if you want a recent watch in good order. Our listings say which one each watch is. Ask the desk what has been replaced on a particular piece.
Does a missing box or papers matter?
It matters for completeness, but not for how the watch performs. We show clearly what comes with each watch. Every watch we sell comes with our own presentation box and a MyLuxApp-certified written appraisal.
Do your Tudor watches have a warranty?
Every watch we sell comes with a 2-year store warranty on the movement. It is our warranty, not the manufacturer's, and we are an independent dealer, not affiliated with Tudor.
How is a Tudor shipped?
Free insured overnight shipping on orders of $1,000 and up, with signature required. Orders under $1,000 ship for a flat $55.
Can I return it?
Unworn in-stock pieces can be returned: you have 7 days from delivery to start a return. Ask the desk for the details of the process.
How can I pay?
We accept card, with a 3.5% fee and a lower wire price shown beside it, bank wire, crypto arranged through the desk, and Affirm or Klarna on eligible orders.
