What “Certified” Means at My Watch Dealer

My Watch Dealer is an independent luxury-watch dealer operating from a trade desk in the downtown Los Angeles jewelry district. We are members of the International Watch & Jewelry Guild (IWJG), the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors (NAWCC), and TAWD. Nothing goes up for sale until it has been examined on our own bench and confirmed genuine. Every buyer receives a written appraisal certifying authenticity, a 2-year store warranty on the movement, a 7-day return window, and fully insured overnight delivery.

We are not an authorized dealer for any brand. That means our inventory is pre-owned and unworn stock purchased through the dealer trade rather than allocated by a manufacturer — which is how we offer dealer-direct pricing rather than showroom markup. Both the card price and the wire price are shown on every listing, side by side, so nothing changes at checkout.

Our Authentication Process

Every watch passes through our in-house bench before it is listed. Every watch is checked on our bench: movement behaviour, case and dial condition, reference verification, and the originality of parts. Pieces confirmed genuine are listed; pieces that do not clear the bench are not. Nothing is drop-shipped and nothing goes on consignment we have not personally handled in Los Angeles.

Each listed watch ships with a MyLuxApp (MLA)-certified written appraisal that documents the piece as genuine and states its assessed value. Any watch you already own can be mailed in for the same document.

2-Year Store Warranty

Every watch we sell — pre-owned, unworn or special order — carries our 2-year store warranty. It covers the mechanical movement for two years from purchase. The warranty is provided by My Watch Dealer (operated by Shak Corp), not by the manufacturer.

What it does not cover: the manufacturer’s original warranty (which may or may not have survived), and anything outside the movement — case, crystal, dial, bezel, bracelet and strap are excluded. Change-of-mind returns are handled under the returns policy, not the warranty. Full terms are on the warranty page.

7-Day Returns

In-stock pieces may be returned or exchanged within 7 days of delivery. The watch must come back unworn, in original condition, with everything it shipped with — original manufacturer box and papers (if listed with it), our presentation box and appraisal, tags and factory stickers all intact. Approved returns are refunded to the original payment method within 5 business days of the piece clearing our bench. Prefer store credit instead? Your call, never a requirement.

If a watch arrives defective or not as described, tell us within 7 days. We verify the piece, refund every dollar to the original method, and cover return shipping. Special orders are final sale unless defective. Full terms are on the returns page.

Insured Overnight Shipping

Every watch ships via FedEx or UPS, insured for the full value of the piece, with an adult signature required on delivery — no courier will leave a watch unattended. Orders of $1,000 or more ship free; orders under $1,000 carry a flat $55 shipping charge. In-stock pieces are packed and out the door within 1–2 business days of payment clearing. My Watch Dealer is operated by Shak Corp, DBA My Watch Dealer at 650 S. Hill St., Suite 317, Los Angeles, CA 90014 in the downtown jewelry district. The desk is open Monday through Friday, 10am–6pm Pacific; in-person visits are by appointment.

Is My Watch Dealer an authorized dealer?

No. We are an independent dealer, not authorized by any manufacturer. Our inventory is pre-owned and unworn stock purchased through the dealer trade, which is why pricing reflects trade numbers rather than authorized retail.

How do I know a watch is genuine?

Every watch is checked on our own bench before it lists. It ships with a MyLuxApp-certified written appraisal documenting its authenticity. If you believe a watch is not as described after delivery, contact us within 7 days for a full refund including return shipping.

What does the 2-year warranty cover?

Can I return a watch if it does not suit me?

Yes — in-stock pieces within 7 days of delivery, unworn, with everything they shipped with. Refunded to your original payment method within 5 business days of the piece clearing our bench.

What payment methods are accepted?

Visa, Mastercard, Amex, bank wire, crypto and Affirm. Paying by wire saves the 3.5% card-processing fee; every listing shows the card price and the wire price side by side so nothing changes at checkout.
