A 40mm steel GMT that sits flatter and tighter than the spec sheet implies — worth a look if bigger cases usually swim on you.
Forty millimeters reads large on paper. On the wrist, this 1980 GMT-Master behaves. The case is slim, the lugs are short and turn down at the ends, so the whole thing hugs a 6.5-inch wrist instead of hanging over the bone. No overhang, no top-heavy tilt.
The Jubilee bracelet does most of the work here. Five-link construction stays supple and wraps close, and the small center links let you dial the fit in half-link jumps. On a narrower wrist that matters — a heavier Oyster tends to gap; this one follows the curve.
