Most watches sold today are 40mm and up, which leaves a lot of people with slim wrists wearing a case that laps over the bone. This ref 279174 doesn't have that problem. At 26mm it sits fully on the wrist, lugs planted, nothing hanging off the edge.
The proportions do the work. A white Roman dial keeps the small face open and easy to read, and the fluted white-gold bezel throws a little light without making the watch feel bigger than it is. On a 5.5 to 6.5-inch wrist it reads as a real watch, not a fashion piece.
