At 36mm with a smooth bezel, this Datejust keeps its footprint tight. The lugs stop where a 6.5-to-7-inch wrist stops, so the case sits flat instead of sliding around or hanging over the bone. On a slimmer wrist, that restraint reads as proportion rather than a big-watch statement.
The white index dial does a lot of quiet work here. No fluting, no color, just markers and hands, so the watch reads clean from across a table and disappears under a cuff. The Oyster bracelet tapers into the case and holds close; sized right, it hugs without pinching in summer heat.
Dress it up under a shirt sleeve or wear it open with a rolled flannel. It handles both without looking like it's trying. Steel, 2009, and it wears its age well.
