Panerai PAM00113 on a Smaller Wrist: How 44mm Behaves

The number scares people off. 44mm, and most narrower wrists assume it's a non-starter. In steel, on the wrist, the PAM00113 behaves differently than the spec sheet reads.

Panerai's cushion case has short, downturned lugs that pull the leather strap close to the wrist instead of letting it hang past the edges. So the watch sits where a smaller case would, and the footprint stays on top of the bone rather than spilling over. The white dial helps too — it's open and legible, and light dials visually shrink a big face more than a black one does.

It wears tall, not sprawling. That's the trade. On a 6.5 to 7-inch wrist it fills the space without overwhelming it, and the crown-guard bridge gives it presence from the side.
