Forty millimeters is where a lot of buyers hesitate, especially anyone with a wrist under seven inches. The 16613 answers that better than its spec sheet suggests. The Submariner's lugs turn down hard and the Oyster bracelet tapers, so the case sits flat and stops well short of the wrist bones. It reads as a watch you wear, not one that wears you.
The two-tone helps here. Steel and yellow gold split the case visually, so it never looks like one heavy slab on a narrow wrist. The blue dial and matching blue bezel stay cool against the warm gold. Dress it down under a rolled cuff with a knit or a tee; dress it up and the gold carries the sleeve of a jacket without shouting.
