Collectors track the references closely. The ref. 1665, made 1967 to 1988, established the COMEX connection, and its double-red dial variants rank among the most sought vintage pieces. The 16600 refined the formula at 40mm through 2008. The 126600 and Rolesor 126603, from 2017 forward, mark the 43mm 50th-anniversary relaunch. Dial originality and bracelet stretch each shift pricing materially, so condition is where the value lives.
This reference isn’t on the desk right now — but sourcing is what we do. As an active Rolex dealer on the global trade network we locate specific pieces to your spec (dial, bezel, size, condition), usually within days. No obligation, dealer-direct pricing.

Buying guide
Two size epochs define buying decisions: the 40mm Sea-Dweller 4000 era, anchored by ref. 16600 (produced 1988–2008), remains the benchmark collector piece for its balanced proportions and strong secondary-market depth; the current 43mm generation—ref. 126600 in steel, ref. 126603 in Rolesor steel-and-yellow-gold—suits buyers seeking modern bracelet comfort and a contemporary movement. Water resistance is rated 1,220m (4,000ft). Value drivers include an unpolished case and bracelet, a functioning Glidelock clasp, and complete box-and-papers. The 126603's two-tone configuration commands a meaningful premium; dial originality and bracelet stretch each affect pricing materially on pre-owned examples.
The ref. 1665 (1967–1988) established the COMEX connection; double-red dial variants are among the most collectible vintage pieces. The 16600 (1988–2008) refined the formula at 40mm. The 126600 and Rolesor 126603 (2017–present) mark a 43mm 50th-anniversary relaunch.
Pre-owned steel 16600 and 126600 examples anchor the lower end; the Rolesor 126603 commands a significant premium reflecting its gold content and newer production. Current live range: Ask for trade price. Prices shown are the full card price; bank-wire payment skips the 3.5% card-processing fee.

In-stock Rolex Sea-Dweller 17mm pieces are held at our store at 650 S. Hill St., Suite 317, in the middle of the downtown Los Angeles jewelry district — not in someone else’s showcase. We own the in-stock pieces we list, which is why the number on the page starts from a trade number rather than a retail one. References marked “Special order” are not in stock and are sourced for you after you order.
Every listing carries two figures: the card price, which is the price shown, and the wire price, which leaves out the 3.5% card-processing fee. If you are local you are welcome to come and see the piece on the bench before you buy — call the desk first and it will be out and ready. If you are not, it goes out overnight and fully insured.
