Rolex GMT-Master II 15.5mm

Independent pre-owned dealer — not an authorized Rolex dealer and not affiliated with Rolex.

Pan American Airways helped shape the original in 1954, and the 24-hour hand became its signature function. The 1983 "II" made that hand independently settable, a real upgrade over what came before. Modern examples hold a 40mm Oyster case, rotating ceramic bezel, and the Cal. 3285. This is the sport Rolex buyers chase hardest on the secondary market. We handle them daily and price at fair trade levels, with wire saving you over card.

Buying guide

Buying a Rolex GMT-Master II 15.5mm

The GMT-Master II runs exclusively at 40mm. Current references — the 126710BLNR ("Batman," blue-black ceramic), 126710GRNR ("Sprite," green-black), and 126720VTNR (left-crown "Destro") — share Cal. 3285 and come on Jubilee or Oyster bracelets. Earlier 16710 and 116710BLNR pieces offer meaningful entry points with proven reliability. Two-tone steel and yellow-gold examples (e.g., 16713) trade at a discount to full-steel but attract a distinct collector segment. Bezel colorway is the primary value driver: Sprite currently commands a notable premium over Batman. Box-and-papers completeness, bracelet stretch, and service history all materially affect resale pricing. Avoid polished cases or replacement bracelets unless the price reflects it.

Generations & references

Key eras: the 16710 (1989–2007) introduced the independent GMT hand; the 116710BLNR (2013) debuted Cerachrom two-tone bezels; the current 126710-series (2019+) adds Cal. 3285 with Chronergy escapement and a revised clasp.

Pricing

With 13 units from $10,743 to $27,600, the range spans older two-tone references to current-generation steel — broadly at or near grey-market retail. Current live range: Ask for trade price. Prices shown are the full card price; bank-wire payment skips the 3.5% card-processing fee.

Model names, references and specifications are referenced from the official Rolex Newsroom (www.rolex.com). Trademarks and product imagery rights remain with the manufacturer; product photography shown is of our own inventory.

Buying a Rolex GMT-Master II 15.5mm in Los Angeles

In-stock Rolex GMT-Master II 15.5mm pieces are held at our store at 650 S. Hill St., Suite 317, in the middle of the downtown Los Angeles jewelry district — not in someone else’s showcase. We own the in-stock pieces we list, which is why the number on the page starts from a trade number rather than a retail one. References marked “Special order” are not in stock and are sourced for you after you order.

Every listing carries two figures: the card price, which is the price shown, and the wire price, which leaves out the 3.5% card-processing fee. If you are local you are welcome to come and see the piece on the bench before you buy — call the desk first and it will be out and ready. If you are not, it goes out overnight and fully insured.
